제주도를 방문할 때마다 찾고 싶었던 고기집이었습니다. 이곳은 숙성 뼈 등심으로 유명한데, 한정된 물량으로 뼈 등심을 맛보기 어렵다고 합니다. 이날 방문했을 때도 이미 뼈 등심이 솔드아웃이었습니다. 숙소로 선택한 노벨에서 도보로 5분 거리에 위치한 함덕점 숙성도를 예약하여 방문했습니다. 예약은 캐치 테이블 기준으로 오후 5시를 기점으로 약 50분 정도 걸렸던 것 같습니다. 우리의 기대에 비해 대기 순서가 빠르게 줄어들어 기쁘게 느껴졌습니다.

It was the kind of place I always wanted to find whenever I visited Jeju Island. This restaurant is famous for its aged bone-in sirloin, but it's said to be difficult to taste it due to the limited quantity. Even on the day of my visit, the bone-in sirloin was already sold out. I made a reservation to visit Hamdeokjeom Sukseongdo, located just a 5-minute walk from the Nobel, where I stayed. The reservation took about 50 minutes based on the catch table criteria, starting from 5 p.m. The waiting time decreased faster than our expectations, making us pleasantly surprised.

 

 

 

알람이 울려 입장하니, 대기석에서 한차례 더 대기해야 했습니다. 대기석 뒷편에는 숙성 중인 흑돼지를 볼 수 있었습니다.

When the alarm rang and I entered, I had to wait in the waiting room one more time. Behind the waiting room, I could observe the aging black pig.

 

 

주문과 동시에 음식이 신속하게 나왔습니다. 우리는 숙성 목살을 주문했는데, 직원분이 친절하게 고기를 구워주셨습니다. 숙성된 고기이기 때문에 완전히 익히지 않고 먹어야 맛이 돋보인다고 안내받았습니다. 명란젓과 고추냉이, 그리고 구운 백김치를 곁들여 먹으면 더욱 맛있다고 하셨습니다.

Food was served promptly as we placed our order. We ordered aged pork neck, and the staff kindly grilled the meat for us. They explained that since it was aged meat, it should be eaten without being fully cooked to fully enjoy the flavor. They recommended enjoying it with seasoned roe, chili paste, and grilled white kimchi.

 

 

 

한라산도 한 병 주문하여 즐겼습니다. 고기가 너무 맛있어서 눈을 감고 식사를 즐겼습니다. 숙성된 고기의 식감이 훌륭하며, 육즙이 풍부하게 느껴졌습니다. 만족스러워 흑돼지 삼겹살도 추가 주문하여 즐겼습니다. 삼겹살은 그냥 먹어도 맛있지만, 숙성되어 있어 더욱 풍미가 돋보였습니다.

We also ordered a bottle of Hanlasan soju to accompany our meal. The meat was so delicious that we enjoyed our meal with closed eyes. The texture of the aged meat was excellent, and the juiciness was richly felt. Satisfied, we added black pork belly to our order. Even though pork belly is delicious on its own, the aging process enhanced its flavor even more.

 

 

또한, 숙성도의 특별한 메뉴인 김치찌개와 갈치속젓 볶음밥을 시키기로 했습니다. 김치찌개는 일반적인 백반집의 김치찌개보다 맛있었고, 갈치속젓 볶음밥은 피날레를 완벽하게 장식하는 훌륭한 메뉴였습니다. 살짝 느끼하면서도 매운 맛이 일품이었습니다. 일반 볶음밥과는 확실히 차이가 났습니다.

Additionally, we decided to try Sukseongdo's special dishes, kimchi stew, and grilled rice with marinated pollack roe. The kimchi stew was more delicious than the typical one served in local eateries. The grilled rice with marinated pollack roe served as a fantastic finale. It had a slightly rich and spicy taste, making it a remarkable dish that clearly distinguished itself from regular fried rice.

 

 

제주도를 방문해도 실망하고 재방문하지 않겠다 다짐하는 경우가 많지만, 함덕점 숙성도는 다시 찾고 싶은 곳입니다. 가격 대비 유명 맛집에 비해 적당하며, 전반적인 맛 또한 만족스러웠습니다. 더불어, 앱을 통한 간편한 예약과 예상 대기 시간을 고려하여 편안하게 즐길 수 있었습니다.

While many visitors often promise not to be disappointed and not to revisit after their trips to Jeju, Hamdeokjeom Sukseongdo is a place I would want to visit again. The prices are reasonable compared to other famous eateries, and the overall taste was satisfying. Additionally, the convenience of making reservations through an app and considering the estimated waiting time made the experience comfortable.
